Lodestar Minerals to commence drilling McDonald Well base metal targets

Lodestar Minerals (ASX: LSR) is preparing an active exploration program on the Peak Hill-Doolgunna Project for 2011 at Neds Creek – McDonald Well, Marymia, and the Western Project.

With a contractor scheduled to arrive on site on January 22, Lodestar will shortly commence the Neds Creek reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.

The five hole, 800 metre program will test five modelled airborne electromagnetic (VTEM) targets within basal units of the Yerrida Basin, and extend regional target generation into adjacent tenements.

An in-fill moving loop electro magnetic (EM) survey at McDonald Well has identified 11 new targets for drilling.

A second phase of drilling will comprise the additional 11 targets located adjacent to major structures and shale units that are potential sites of sediment-hosted base metal mineralization.

Permit applications for access and clearing for the proposed second phase drilling will be submitted as soon as the modeled data is received, with the applications expected to be lodged by the end of January.

Regional geochemical sampling has revealed anomalous results 10 parts per million (ppm) silver (Ag) and 805ppm lead (Pb) in a stream float sample from the Marymia tenements.

Peak Hill-Doolgunna is part of the north Murchison base metal province of Western Australia.
