Legend Mining increases Cameroon project area by 667km2 with new permit

The Legend Mining (ASX: LEG) Ngovayang project in Cameroon has been extended to 2972 square kilometres after a new 667 square kilometre permit was granted.

Within the Ngovayang Project, a 115 kilometre strike of itabirite has been identified by the company in 24 separate zones.

These itabirite zones, which can contain 20% to 45% iron, are considered possible precursors for the formation of higher grade direct shipping ore mineralisation.

In regards to the new tenement, Mark Wilson, managing director, said “With the permission of the relevant authorities we included this area in our February 2010 aeromagnetic survey and, given the prospectivity highlighted in the survey, the grant is an important step in the development of the project."

The permit is held by Legend's 90% owned subsidiary Camina SA.
