Pharmaxis (ASX: PXS) has been granted a trading halt by the ASX pending an update in relation to its European marketing application for Bronchitol expected by Wednesday 25 May 2011.
Bronchitol is a drug used to combat the build-up of mucous in the lungs of patients suffering from respiratory illnesses such as cystic fibrosis and chronic bronchitis.
The drug is a formulation of mannitol administered as a dry powder through a hand-held inhaler.
