Spanish potash developer Highfield Resources (ASX: HFR) has appointed Mike Norris as chief financial officer.
Highfield wholly-owns five potash projects in Spain, which are located in the Ebro potash producing basin in the north of the country.
The appointment of Norris enhances the company's executive management team as it transitions from a successful potash explorer and developer, to a low cost, high margin potash producer.
Most recently Norris acted as Finance Director for African gold producer Avocet Mining (LON:AVM).
Anthony Hall, managing director, commented:
"We are delighted to have been able to secure someone with Mike's experience. We know he will add real value across our operations.”
Highfield is well-funded with circa $118 million cash at the end of June 2015.
The company will also be added to the S&P/ASX 300 Index in the latest quarterly re-balance, which will take effect after the market close on Friday 18th September.
