Helix Resources (ASX:HLX) has identified high grade copper-gold in rock chips at its Collerina Project in New South Wales.
Rockchips with up to 3% copper and 9.3g/t gold were returned from sampling along sub-cropping gossanous material over a strike of at least 500 metres, within a regional 15 kilometre prospective corridor.
The high grades of gold associated silver may be associated with separate mineralisation phases, which provides scope for multiple target styles within this prospective system.
Preparations are underway for a detailed soil auger sampling program.
The project is located within a 200 kilometre VMS belt and is close to infrastructure including the operating Tritton Mine and associated deposits to the north, and the Tottenham copper-gold deposits to the south.
Earlier this month, Helix identified a large gold in soil anomaly with a strike exceeding 1 kilometre long and 200 metres wide at its Browns prospect, also in New South Wales.
