Helix Resources (ASX: HLX) has defined a maiden Inferred Resource of 1.4 million tonnes grading 1.4% copper and 0.5 grams per tonne gold at its Blanco y Negro Project in Chile.
This includes a high grade component of 0.9Mt at 2% copper and 0.75g/t gold, for contained resources of 17,000 tonnes of copper and 20,000 ounces of gold.
The Resource gives the company the foundation to advance a high grade copper-gold deposit that is nearby to infrastructure in Region IV.
It has also provided a detailed geological model to assist in targeting extensions and repeats of the initial resource at Blanco y Negro while confirming the potential of the area to host deposits of meaningful size and grade.
Future Activities
Helix has identified a series of targets along strike and within the mining lease that will be prioritised for future programs.
The geological model illustrates several zones of interest, where late-stage northeast striking faults appear to offset the main northwest shearzone.
Surface mapping over a strike of about 600 metres has been undertaken along the southern extension of the offsets of the main trend and further mapping is planned.
