Norseman Gold appoints Australian entrepreneur Kevin Maloney chairman

Norseman Gold (LON:NGL, ASX:NGX) said today that Australian entrepreneur Kevin Maloney has been appointed chairman of the company.

Maloney is also chairman of Tulla Resources, which is now a significant shareholder in Norseman as well as taking over running of its Western Australian gold mine of the same name.

A serial entrepreneur, Maloney’s most significant business feat to date was creating and building The MAC Services Group, a mining services company, which he sold for $650 million in 2010.

He has reinvested the proceeds from his 52 per cent stake in The Mac in a portfolio of assets which span mining (mainly copper and gold), transportation and IT.

He also owns the Segenhoe racehorse stud, which aims to emulate the bloodstock success of John Magnier and his Coolmore operation in Ireland.
