Multiple intersections of high grade gold ore, including the bonanza strike of; 2 metres at 102.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 194 metres, have been discovered by Genesis Minerals (ASX: GMD) in Chile.
Other highlights include; 2 metres at 6.5g/t gold, and, 1 metre at 17.7g/t gold.
The high grade hits are located directly below and 150 metres downdip from the high grade historic intersection of; 2 metres at 32g/t gold, helping to confirm that the area is prospective for gold.
The project is located in northern Chile, named Dinamarquesa, with these early results providing a positive start to the Genesis exploration program.
Michael Fowler, managing director, said “Our first diamond drill hole has intersected significant and very high grade gold mineralisation that confirms the depth and strike potential of Dinamarquesa."
Genesis entered into an agreement in August 2010 with a private Chilean company to acquire a 100% interest in Dinamarquesa.
The project is located in the Atacama Desert in an area with excellent infrastructure, 90 kilometres north of the city of Copiapó and 75 kilometres east of the Pacific Ocean.
