Frontier Resources (ASX:FNT) has reiterated the prospectivity of its Sudest exploration licence in Papua New Guinea with hand trench results showing modest gold mineralisation.
Hand trenching was undertaken for three weeks at the Feiori prospect and the megascopic quartz veining discovered in three locations on the grid were evaluated. These were not associated with gold in soil anomalies.
Trenching was undertaken at 2 locations, about 500 metres apart, at Gossan hill and another Grassland hill to the northwest.
The quartz veins were well tracked, mapped and sampled and were gold mineralised at a maximum trench sample of 2 metres grading 0.32 grams per tonne gold.
The company would conduct follow up exploration when the landowners in the Adelaide-Cornucopia prospects are ready.
The company had a cash position of $1.02 million at the end of last quarter.
