Three large, voluminous anomalies with the presence of major sulphide systems from surface to over 800 metres deep has been identified by Frontier Resources (ASX: FNT) at the Andewa Gold Copper Project, located on the island of New Britain in Papua New Guinea.
Peter McNeil, chairman, said "The three dimensional Induced Polarisation geophysical survey has enhanced the economic potential for precious and base metals at the Andewa Project by an order of magnitude.
"Frontier’s goal was to demonstrate the possible presence a major gold and copper mineralised system to produce new and systematically defined, high quality drilling targets in multiple prospect areas."
The company has previously drilled the Komsen Prospect from surface to a maximum depth of 320m below surface in a limited program, proving a vertical continuity of; 7.9m of 10.01g/t gold.
The market has supported the news, with Frontier shares up 17% in intra-day trade to $0.082, on volume of over 8 million shares.
