Energy Metals hits up to 2770ppm uranium at Bigwest, Northern Territory

Energy Metals (ASX: EME) has made a uranium intersection of 1 metre at 2770 parts per million at the Bigwest target, part of its Ngalia project in the Northern Territory.

The intercept came within a zone of 2 metres at 1451 parts per million uranium from 199 metres. A broader hit of 6 metres at 428 parts per million uranium from 122 metres was also assayed.

Notably, this is the first discovery of significant uranium mineralisation west of the Bigrlyi deposit on this tenement and extends the known strike of Bigrlyi-style mineralisation more than 9 kilometres to the west.

The Bigrlyi deposit is hosted on an adjoining tenement under joint venture between Energy Metals, Paladin Energy (ASX:PDN) subsidiary Valhalla Uranium and Southern Cross Exploration (ASX:SXX).

Energy Metals has pioneered the use of the gradient array induced polarisation geophysics to identify sandstone hosted uranium mineralisation under thin sand cover.

Further drilling is planned to test for extensions to mineralisation both along strike and at shallower depths, and to infill between current drill lines, with results are expected in the coming weeks.
