Globe Metals & Mining (ASX:GBE) has appointed former Arafura Resources Limited (ASX: ARU) managing director Alistair Stephens as chief executive officer.
During his tenure at Arafura, he transitioned Arafura’s rare earth project from exploration to feasibility stage.
At Globe, Stephens will be responsible for delivering the Definitive Feasibility Study for the Kanyika Niobium Project, transitioning Globe from advanced explorer to project developer.
Globe is well placed with $16.6 million in the bank to progress the DFS, and its aim of becoming a major supplier of Niobium and Tantalum in Southern Africa.
Major shareholder is East China Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau (ECE), a Chinese State Owned Enterprise.
