Comet Ridge (ASX: COI) has raised A$9.4 million, more than the A$7.7 million it was seeking, to fund its coal seam gas exploration and development activities.
Eligible shareholders had subscribed for 32.86 million shares, or 84% of the shares offered under the retail portion of the 1 for 4 accelerated non-renounceable entitlement offer.
This included applications for additional shares totalling 10.74 million shares.
The company exercised its discretion to scale back some applications for additional shares from a small number of shareholders and will allot 30.85 million shares, priced at A$0.10 each to raised about A$3.1 million.
The institutional component of the offer had received strong demand, leading Comet Ridge to complete an additional A$2.5 million placement to institutional and sophisticated investors on top of the A$3.8 million it raised.
Comet Ridge plans to carry out additional exploration and appraisal work in the Galilee Basin and Mahalo in ATP 337P in 2012/13.
