Dragon Mining (ASX: DRA) has improved confidence in the geological model for its Orivesi Gold Mine in southern Finland with underground drilling after returning up to 20.65 metres at 8.6 grams per tonne gold.
Other results from the 11 hole program totalling 2,172.3 metres include 18 metres at 5.33g/t gold and 13 metres at 3.35g/t gold.
The drilling is part of a 27 hole, 5,600 metre, definition and extension program that was designed to further evaluate the Kutema lode system between the 960 metre and the previously untested 1200 metre levels.
The drill rig has moved to the 710m level at the Orivesi Gold Mine where it is undertaking a six hole, 2,075 metre program following-up significant intercepts obtained from an earlier exploration program that drill tested the area to the immediate north of the Kutema and Sarvisuo lode systems.
Dragon produced 14,908 ounces of gold in the September 2013 quarter from its Finish gold mines, which include Orivesi.
