Boss Resources (ASX: BOE) has unearthed numerous significant intercepts from an initial aircore drilling program at the Diabatou Prospect, part of the Gourma Project in Burkina Faso.
Gold mineralisation was intercepted on all five drill lines with multiple mineralised zones remaining open at depth and along strike to the northeast and southwest.
Notable intercepts include:
- 29 metres at 1.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 38 metres, including 14 metres at 2.1g/t gold;
- 25 metres at 1.1g/t gold from 15 metres, including 9 metres at 2.3g/t gold;
- 12 metres at 2.8g/t gold from 54 metres;
- 12 metres at 1.4g/t gold from 14 metres; and
- 12 metres at 1g/t gold from 14 metres.
Boss Resources’ phase one aircore drilling program has been completed with 422 holes drilled for 15,029 metres.
Drilling was testing pathfinder element supported gold in soil anomalies over a combined 7.5 kilometre strike length within three prospect areas including Diabatou-Gariaga, Bohongou and Bongori-Foutouri.
Diabatou is the first prospect to be drilled within the Gourma Project.
The Diabatou-Gariaga anomaly is a 5 kilometre long anomaly linking the Diabatou and Gariaga artisanal sites.
Results indicate several zones of gold mineralisation and shearing sub-parallel to the regional structural and lithological trend (NE-SW) over a strike length of more than 800 metres.
Around 30% of assays have now been received for the phase one program.
