Boss Resources commences shale drilling program at Latrobe

Boss Resources (ASX: BOE) has commenced a 14 hole diamond drilling campaign at the China Bush prospect, part of the company’s Latrobe Oil Shale Project in Tasmania.

An exploration target of between 20 million and 70 million tonnes of oil shale has been set for Latrobe, equating to between 14 million and 48 million barrels of oil.

The initial drilling program comprises 300 metres and is designed to increase the drill hole density at China Bush in order to allow for an indicated inventory resource estimation.

Drilling will seek to determine the thickness, density and other physical and chemical properties of the oil shale.

China Flat is one of eight oil shale prospects within the Latrobe tenement. Oil shale throughout Latrobe is a flat lying sedimentary unit with an average thickness of about 1.3 metres.
