Black Rock Mining (ASX:BKT) climbed 7.1% today after drilling results at the Mahenge project in Tanzania wide, show further wide, consistent grade graphite mineralisation.
Assays from the next two Cascade drill holes intercepted 98 metres at 8.92% Total Graphitic Carbon (TGC) including 40 metres at 10.18% from RC43 and 60 metres at 9.04% TGC including 62 metres at 10.07% from RC42.
Highlighting why Black Rock's shares have climbed 188% since June, Cascade promises to be both larger in size and higher in grade than the Epanko north prospect.
At the adjacent Ulanzi prospect, 17 holes have been completed and all showed consistent thick graphite intervals.
Significantly, Ulanzi in turn looks to be substantially larger then Cascade.
The Ulanzi strike length significantly increased from 3 kilometres to 3.75 kilometres.
Cascade
Additional holes will be drilled from the east to determine the full width of lode, which is currently over 70 metres.
The overall width of mineralisation is expected to increase with additional drilling from the east.
The four holes are on the western Cascade lode, interpreted to be over 1 kilometres in strike length and between 60-120 metres in width.
Previous trenching 250 metres to the south of the recent drill holes returned a result of 98 metres at 10.3% TGC,
complementing 60 metres at 9.47% TGC further to the south.
Analysis
It is clear to see why Black Rock has been the investor's friend firing like a rocket since June.
The current drilling programme testing Cascade and Ulanzi prospects, have potential to deliver a stand-alone graphite resource larger than Epanko north.
The widths and consistency in grade of the graphite mineralisation are significant.
The strike length of the Ulanzi prospect is currently 3.75 kilometres, and is expected to increase along strike as the ground to the north and south is further evaluated.
