Bisan Limited (ASX: BSN) has advised that P-Fuel Limited has been granted an Australian patent for its waste plastic and waste oil to fuel and energy process.
This adds to the already granted international patent portfolio in the U.S., South Africa, Malaysia and Russia.
Patent applications are pending in other key territories and are in the final stages of assessment.
Bisan is the largest shareholder of P-Fuel with 16.8 million, or approximately 16% of the issued capital.
The P-Fuel plant has been designed to produce transport quality diesel from waste plastics and waste oils and if this can be achieved, P-Fuel believes it will be a world first.
The initial aim is to produce red diesel, which has a large number of fuel and energy applications.
