Central Asia Resources (ASX: CVR) has caught investor attention with news that the company has produced 300 ounces of gold over a two week period from the Dalabai Gold Project in Kazakhstan.
Shares in Central Asia spiked 21.43% to $0.034 today, with 3.4 million shares traded.
Only one of the four pad cells is being run, with gold production to increase as the other three cells are brought online.
The company is leaching gold at a rate of about 25% of the expected production for low grade material during the ramp up phase.
Recovery rates are expected to improve during ramp up.
Rates of circulation through the plant are holding steady, at between 28 and 30 cubic metres per hour, while return solution gold concentrations are in the range of 1.5 milligrams per litre.
A sample of resin from one of the three operating columns has been sent for analysis.
Central Asia is targeting a 160,000 tonne leach pad for Dalabai and plans to gradually increase processing levels over the next six months.
The Dalabai project has a total Indicated and Inferred Resource of 3.98 million tonnes at 0.97 grams per tonne for 124,000 ounces of gold.
Central Asia is undertaking a $1 million exploration program to potentially increase production and extend the mine life.
