Coal

Celsius Coal continues to build up Kyrgyzstan coking coal potential

Celsius Coal (ASX: CLA) continues to receive assays from its 2012 drilling program that confirm the coal seams at its Tuyuk Kargasha Prospect in Central Kyrgyzstan have very good coking coal properties.

The latest assays show Free Swelling Index (FSI) properties in the range of 6.5 to 8.5, which most samples from the drilling have returned.

This is well above the 4.5 level that is typically assessed as the threshold for coking coal.

The coal samples also show very good thermal characteristics along with low to moderate phosphorus and acceptable levels of sulphur.

Celsius is continuing to compile and interpret Soviet era diamond core drillhole, adit and trench data for Kargasha and Kokkia.

This will be used to create 3D digital coal seam thickness and quality models that will form the basis of the resource estimation.

At the Min Teke Project, results from three drillholes have shown coal intersections of high thermal capacity with some samples showing good coking properties.

Celsius continues to maintain its exploration target of 501 million and 700 million tonnes of coal for the Uzgen Basin Coking Coal Project and is preparing a maiden JORC Resource that is expected to be finalised by the end of the first quarter 2013.
