Catalyst Metals (ASX: CYL) has intersected high grade gold deposits at the company’s Four Eagles Gold Project in Victoria.
Highlights include:
- 0.8 metres at 17.50 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 173.2 metres;
- 0.7 metres at 4.83g/t gold from 170.3 metres; and
- 0.4 metres at 2.08g/t gold from 176.2 metres.
The intersections come from initial assay results within the upper section of a diamond drill hole at the project.
Bruce Kay, technical director, said “These early results have given the company confidence to continue actively pursuing its current drilling strategy and will likely conduct further diamond drilling in the December quarter of 2011.”
The recent intersections follow up previous air core drilling at the site in March 2011 testing targets generated by Providence Gold & Minerals.
Intersections included:
- 6 metres at 82g/t gold; and
- 3 metres at 9.7g/t gold.
The Four Eagles Gold Project is located generally along strike of the Bendigo Goldfield and west of the towns of Mitiamo and Raywood in central Victoria, extending from 20 to 70 kilometres north of Bendigo.
Catalyst said that gold mineralisation has been shown by widely spaced aircore drilling to occur over an area of at least 3 kilometres long by 1 kilometre wide, and will require a sustained effort during the first 12 months to gain an understanding of the high grade gold distribution.
