Buxton Resources pinpoints strong conductors at Yalbra Graphite Project

Buxton Resources (ASX: BUX) has received preliminary electromagnetic data for its Yalbra Graphite Project in Western Australia highlighting very strong conductive responses to the south over previously drilled graphitic zones and the newly identified conductors to the north.

Significantly, a highly conductive response was returned over the exploration target area of 8 to 12 million tonnes at 4% to 11% carbon.

The newly identified northern zone is shown to extend over a 6 kilometre strike length, representing a larger target area than the southern conductor that hosts the exploration target.

Preliminary images from the survey have also shown that historical drillholes correlate with the highly conductive main zone and remain open in both directions.

Also, the northwest corner highlights a smaller eye shaped conductor.

Processing of the entire electromagnetic data set will continue over the coming weeks, and be used to identify drill targets for future testing.

Drilling is set to begin during the first half of 2013, upon grant of the tenement.

A recent field trip to Yalbra was undertaken to identify historical drill collars, outcrop, trenches and gather rock chip samples.

Twelve trenches were located from the eastern side of the southern conductor to the western side.

Several trenches and outcrop exhibited visible, high grade graphite across the 4 kilometre strike length which showed strong spatial correlation with historical graphite drill intercepts.

Laboratory analyses for the 26 rock chip samples taken are expected in around three weeks.
