AusQuest (ASX: AQD) has intercepted up to 12 metres at 3.82 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from the surface at the company’s Comoe Gold Project in Burkina Faso.
Reconnaissance rotary air blast drilling at the Komoe tenement intersected high grade gold over the entire length of the drill hole.
The hole was terminated at 12 metres due to limitations of the drill rig in hard ground. Assays from 4 metre composite samples varied from 0.99g/t gold to 5.32g/t gold.
The intersection occurs about 200 metres southeast of the Phaco Hill gold silver prospect, and could represent the start of a new gold zone associated with an interpreted feeder system for the Phaco Hill gold silver mineralisation.
Infill rotary air blast drilling is planned to confirm the gold trend. Depending on the results, deeper drilling is planned to test the target.
Reconnaissance drilling has been carried out over five regional gold soil anomalies elsewhere within the Komoe tenement, returning anomalous gold values of more than 0.1g/t gold from several holes.
Further drilling is planned to test these prospects.
In addition, rotary air blast drilling is continuing on the western and northern tenements of the Comoe Project.
Assays from drilling at the Tondoura tenement are expected around the end of the month.
