Coolabi launches Bagpuss, Clangers and Ivor the Engine episodes on iTunes

IP-centred media group Coolabi (LON:COO) said the classic children's series, Bagpuss, Clangers and Ivor the Engine are now available to download from iTunes. Coolabi manages and represent the licensing and distribution rights of Smallfilms, who own the intellectual property rights over the three classic children's television series.

Coolabi, on behalf of the rights owners, has entered into an agreement with a production company, E1 Enterainment (LON:ETO), to make the original episodes of these three classic children's series available through iTunes.

According to Coolabi, the iTunes launch was immediately successful, “within days of launching, the shows all went straight into the top 5 in the iTunes Store TV Programmes Kids Chart with five-star ratings”.

"By tapping into the huge iTunes market with these classic and much loved brands, we can access both adult fans who remember the programmes from their childhood and kids who are discovering them for the first time. In addition, this deal enables us to expose these brands to international markets", Coolabi chief executive Jeremy Banks commented.

Each of the three series’, were created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin – who also produced other children’s television series such as “The Saga of Nogging The Nog”, “The PingWings” and Pogles Wood.

Coolabi specialises in the ownership, development, creative management and exploitation of high quality intellectual property assets.
