ASF Group Ltd (ASX:AFA) led consortium has been short listed for the next tender stage of a multi-billion dollar development at Royal Docks, Albert Island in London.

The ASF consortium includes strategic partners, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and China Communications (CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co Ltd).

The Greater London Authority has advised that the ASF team has been invited to participate in the Invitation to Submit Initial Tenders (ISIT) procurement stage of the Project.

This followed the submission of a pre-qualification questionnaire package by the consortium.

Other members of the team include Farrells, an internationally recognized architect and planners based in London, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, Savills Plc, the global real estate provider based in London and Urban Space Management – a prime mover in the creation of attractive, affordable regeneration initiatives based in UK.

The Royal Docks is currently undergoing significant redevelopment with plans for more than 11,000 new homes and 40,000 jobs in the area.

Current projects include the Royal Albert Dock, Silvertown Quays and Royal Albert Basin.

The proposed scope of the Project will include new marine facilities, river frontage link between the development and the surrounding communities, and transport links to Gallions Reach and King George V DLR station, refurbishment of Thames House and a small quantum of housing.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson's objectives are to support the growth in passenger and freight traffic on the River Thames, supporting economic regeneration and the ongoing transformation of the Royal Docks, of which Mayor of London is a major landowner.

The Mayor said: "London's Royal Docks, historically the throbbing arteries of UK trade and commerce, present a huge opportunity which I'm determined to capitalise on. My vision is to develop a world class international business district, creating local jobs and growth and strengthening trade between east and west."

Crown Resorts reported to be in talks with ASF consortium

Separately, mMedia reports indicate that Crown Resorts is in talks to partner the ASF consortium in a new Gold Coast gambling resort.

Sources confirmed the ASF Consortium – led by the ASX-listed ASF Group, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Corporation – held talks with potential partners to operate the casino component including Crown over the last few months.

Apartment tower proposal

Recently, ASF Group submitted a development application with the Gold Coast City Council for a 66-storey golden apartment tower across the Broadwater.

The new tower proposal is located at the corner of Park Lane and Scarborough Street at Southport, minutes from the company’s proposed casino resort at Main Beach.

ASF is also currently developing the Peninsula project on Hope Island, with over 80 per cent of the first stage units having been sold.
