AnaeCo secures Japanese patent for alternative waste management technology

AnaeCo (ASX: ANQ) has received patent approval in Japan for its core DiCOM™ bioconversion process.

DiCOM™ treats municipal solid waste, diverting up to 90% from landfill, and produces renewable energy from biogas, and organic fertiliser.

It also generates agricultural grade compost and recyclables such as steel, aluminium, glass and plastics.

The DiCOM™ bioconversion process is already covered by granted patents in Australia, the U.S., Canada and China, and is awaiting a patent grant in the European Union.

AnaeCo recently raised A$21.4 million under an underwritten renounceable pro-rata entitlements issue. The company also had cash reserves of around $2.5 million at the end of December 2012.

This means the company is trading around cash backing with a market cap. of $22.9 million and share price of $0.01.

The capital raising funds will be used to complete the WMRC DiCOM™ Expansion Facility in Western Australia.
