AnaeCo expands waste technology intellectual property

AnaeCo (ASX: ANQ) has filed seven new international applications under the Patent Co-operation Treaty for its alternative waste technology, the DiCOM™ bioconversion process, as part of its strategy to deepen and broaden the protection of its valuable intellectual property assets.

These new filings add to the two original patent families for which the company holds granted patents in several major countries, and two other international applications that were filed in July 2012.

The two original patent families cover the main DiCOM™ bioconversion process and the pressure aeration process, and are valid until 2020 and 2021 respectively.

The new international applications cover a range of specific aspects of the overall DiCOM™ System, with corresponding future national patents able to be maintained in force until 2032.

AnaeCo delivers alternative waste technology facilities based on the patented DiCOM™ bioconversion process.

The system incorporates advanced sorting, recycling, anaerobic digestion and aerobic composting to recycle municipal solid waste into renewable energy from biogas, agricultural grade compost and recyclables such as steel, aluminum, glass and plastics.

The DiCOM™ process enables resource recovery intervention closer to source, with enhancement of existing waste transfer stations now a viable waste management option.

WMRC DiCOM™ expansion project commissioning

AnaeCo is set to process waste material at the Western Metropolitan Regional Council DiCOM™ Plant in Western Australia in November 2012.

Construction is well advanced and pre-commissioning is already underway in a number of areas.

The AnaeCo commissioning team was mobilised to site earlier this month to begin commissioning of the DiCOM™ System.
