Amadeus Energy in a trading halt to review US asset sales

The ASX has granted a trading halt to Amadeus Energy (ASX: AMU) pending an announcement by the company, to allow time to review offers that have been received for some US assets.

Amadeus added, 'These offers relate to the sales process that the company has been running in recent months'.

During mid-2010 Amadeus announced that it had received unsolicited approaches from US based companies expressing an interest in acquiring the company's assets, and requested Macquarie Capital Advisers to review all options available to unlock the assets' value.

Amadeus added that Macquarie was chosen because of its experience in dealing with US oil and gas assets and the strength of its corporate advisory business in Australia and in the US through Macquarie Tristone.

It is not yet known which assets are being targeted to be purchased, but Amadeus has US based projects in the following states; Kansas, Louisiana, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Texas.

Last month the company upgraded its 1P reserves position following the identification and certification of an additional 412,000 barrels of proven oil reserves at Ector County, Texas.
