Aditya Birla Minerals (ASX:ABY) has received approval from the Western Australia Department of Mines and Petroleum to carry out paste filling on three stopes at the Nifty underground copper mine.
This will be carried out to control rock mass conditions particularly the crown pillars of these stopes.
It had applied to carry out the past filling as part of the risk assessment and hazard control report it had submitted to the DMP.
All other mining activities continue to remain prohibited except the paste filling, Phase 2 probe drilling, installation of the seismic monitoring system and Jumbo rehab work to maintain safe access.
Work on the mine was stopped in March after a sinkhole occurred at the mine.
