Up around 15% in the past three months, veterinary drug maker Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC (LON:DPH) will be a closely watched stock on Monday as it releases financial results for the full year.
Dechra, in July, told investors that sales in the twelve months ended 30 June had exceeded expectations, with 21% growth in turnover compared to 2015. What that means for the bottom line will be the focal point on Monday.
“We expect focus to be on both profitability as well as the ongoing integration of recent acquisitions Genera and Putney,” said Numis analyst Sally Taylor.
Taylor added that Dechra has continued to invest in infrastructure as it focuses on the lucrative US companion animal market. As a result, the Numis analyst is expecting the adjusted earnings (EBITA) margin to lower to 21.1%, from 21.8% last year.
Tuesday brings the first of two snapshots of the UK housing market post-Brexit vote, as builder Berkeley Group Holdings PLC (LON:BKG) releases an update for the first quarter.
Berkeley’s demotion out of the FTSE 100 perhaps underlines the shifting sands beneath the business.
Ian Forrest, analyst at online broker The Share Centre, highlights that house builders have generally been upbeat about the market since the referendum, but Berkeley is heavily skewed to London which has been ‘soft’.
In a note, he said: “softness in the London market, which is a major part of Berkeley’s operations, has caused concern among some investors so any comments on that will be of interest.”
Barratt Developments PLC (LON:BDEV) follows on Wednesday, reporting on its fourth quarter, and the outlook for the comparatively more balanced national builder.
“The share price has clawed back about half of the losses since Brexit. Investors have been expecting companies in the sector to report impacts to buyer demand since the referendum however, this does not seem to playing through with buyer sentiment,” Forrest added.
Halfords Group PLC's trading statement for the second quarter is on Tuesday; also in the retail sector Dixons Carphone PLC (LON:DC) has a trading statement on Thursday, alongside cow geneticists Genus and North Sea-focussed oiler EnQuest PLC (LON:ENQ).
On the small-caps front, things have been looking up of late for video editing software developer Forbidden Technologies plc (LON:FBT), as it makes the transition from a technology-focused company to an outfit intent on securing sales.
Tuesday's interims will no doubt reveal a loss but the key metric will be the top line, while investors will also be keen to hear the outlook statement.
Aircraft leasing firm Avation PLC (LON:AVAP) has been pumping out the contract news of late, but the effect of these will not have been felt in Thursday's prelims.
