Ziptel Ltd (ASX:ZIP), developer of a voice over IP based mobile app, has generated early revenues of $62,000 since adding monetisation features into the Zipt app.
The Zipt app enables consumers to send messages and make calls for free between users. The app can also be used to call landlines or mobiles at low call rates.
The newest version of the app incorporates additional monetisation features including Zipt Out top up credits, top up credits paid by partner content, static adverting and rewarded video.
Zipt app achieved 10 million installs since the global launch on 4 April 2016.
Zipt has launched an ambassador campaign with cricketers Brett Lee, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to promote user growth by engaging app users with the sporting personalities.
Ziptel is targeting its marketing efforts to convert non-paying subscribers to paying subscribers, which is more cost effective than pursuing new installs.
The company continues to seek growth of total app installations organically, through the ambassador campaign and other methods.
