ZipTel (ASX:ZIP) has revealed that ZipT, a mobile based VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) communication application which allows customers to make international calls at very low rates, has the ability to deliver superior sound quality in lower bandwidth data environments.
ZipT currently runs on Android and IOS operating systems and is being developed for the Windows Mobile platform.
Over the past few months, the ZipT application has undergone beta testing in preparation for its launch, and has consistently delivered outstanding test results.
Most notably, the ZipT application delivers superior voice quality through its dynamic audio compression technology at bandwidths as low as 6kbps.
In comparison with other leading telephony applications, ZipT can operate in extremely low data environments, up to 80% lower than its peers, and in particular, in areas where competitors cannot operate.
In addition, ZipT requires significantly less data per minute resulting in greater cost savings for customers.
The ZipT system platform is built on a scalable architecture that will allow the company to adapt quickly and implement new technological developments that may emerge from the ongoing research.
ZipTel has signed two distribution agreements for ZipT with Mpire Media and AppPharm Limited which will ensure near term exposure and market penetration for ZipT.
