Walkabout Resources finds sulphide mineralisation at Tanzania copper project

Walkabout Resources’ (ASX: WKT) reverse circulation drilling at the Kigoma Copper Project in Tanzania has discovered three shear hosted veins with sulphide mineralisation over several metres width.

Notable intercepts include 1 metre at 63 grams per tonne silver and 1.26% copper, 1 metre at 17g/t silver and 2.1% copper and 1 metre at 3.4% zince.

These zones are close to surface within weathered basalts and remain open at depth and along strike.

All holes drilled intersected sulphide mineralisation in the weathered to transitional zone.

The mineralisation within these zones is potentially reduced as the result of surficial leaching.

The drilling program was designed to test for primary sulphide mineralisation over a large soil covered area where abundant quartz float with visible sulphides and copper oxides was found.

This entire area straddles the interpreted Malagarassi North shear zone which is believed to be a major structural control in the project area.
