Tungsten Mining hits high grade mineralisation at Kilba project

Tungsten Mining (ASX:TGN) has hit high grade tungsten mineralisation at its flagship Kilba project in Western Australia following Phase 1 drilling programme.

The positive drill results provide the impetus to the company to focus on fast-tracking the evaluation and development of the project.

Final analysis from the first eight holes returned significant intersections including 14.5 metres at 0.80% Tungsten Oxide (WO3) from 42.5 metres and 7.4 metres at 1.06% WO3 from 82.8 metres.

Diamond drilling was done last November to confirm the presence of high grade tungsten mineralisation indicated by drilling completed by Union Carbide Corporation in the 1970s-80s.

The company has already started Phases II and III drilling programmes, which are planned for completion by the end of the first quarter of this year.

Phase II will include reverse circulation and diamond drilling on 80 metres spaced section lines over 800 metres of strike.

Phase III will include further in-fill drilling on selected section lines at 40 metres intervals.

A feasibility study is planned over the next 8-12 months to establish the commercial viability of the project.
