Central China Goldfields released additional surface sampling results from the Dong Mao Huo gold project in northern China.
Results confirmed gold and silver oxide mineralisation at the West Hill, and "significant" gold and silver results on the East Hill. Central China said that it would now carry out follow up work on the East Hill this year, and it was looking at the possibility of taking a bulk sample later in the year.
Jeff Malaihollo, Managing Director, commented:
"We are now assessing the viability of bulk sampling the high grade sulphide and opening up one of the low grade oxide gold pits for bulk testing. This significant next step at Dong Mao Hao is being undertaken based on this most recent channel sampling which validates the presence of oxide gold at the surface workings at the Main Zone and the successful 2007 drilling programme, which highlighted the presence of higher grade mineralised pods within a broader gold mineralised envelope."
Shares in Central China jumped 28% on the positive results.
