Talon Petroleum (ASX: TPD) is participating in the drilling of the Bonner-1H in Texas that is on trend with and adjacent to the Cheneyboro field that has produced 5.7 million barrels of oil equivalent to date.
Bonner-1H, the proof of concept well for the Roundhouse Prospect, will have a 5,100 foot lateral with between 10-12 fracture stimulation stages in the Cotton Valley Lime interval.
If the well is successful, there is adequate acreage within the 600 acres to accommodate additional drilling.
Roundhouse is the first oil prospect that Talon is testing following its demerger from Texon Petroleum (ASX: TXN) in early March 2013.
Talon has a 24.25% working interest in the Bonner-1H and the surrounding 600 acres.
