Talga Resources (ASX: TLG) has inked a watershed agreement securing port space at the Port of Luleå in Sweden, a key component of economic studies being carried out by Talga on its Nunasvaara graphite project.
Luleå is the largest bulk goods port in Sweden with the annual volume of goods handled exceeding 9 million tonnes.
The Memorandum of Understanding with the Port of Luleå is for the allocation of port space allowing up to 80,000 tonnes of graphite concentrate or more advanced products to be exported from Sweden.
Port of Luleå is the sole operator of the public harbour in the north of Sweden.
The MoU provides a framework towards securing a binding Port Terminal Services Access Agreement in the future and utilising the integrated sea-logistics system at Luleå.
First production from the Nunasvaara graphite project is slated for 2015.

About 700 vessels call at the Port of Luleå every year, many with a loading capacity of more than 55,000 tonnes each.
Commodities handled include coking coal, magnetite, steel and bentonite.
The port operates year round.
Nunasvaara
Talga unleashed the highest grade, 24.4% total graphitic carbon, and the second largest resource of contained graphite globally in first drilling at Nunasvaara.
The deposit currently has an over 20 year mine life potential as well as major expansion potential with less than 10% of the strike drill tested.
Nunasvaara currently hosts 7.6 million tonnes at 24.4% total graphitic carbon for 1.86 million tonnes of contained graphite.
Importantly, 5.6 million tonnes at 24.6% total graphitic carbon for 1.4 million tonnes of contained graphite is already in the higher confidence Indicated category.
Talga has outlined an additional exploration target of 117 to 178 million tonnes at 17% to 23% total graphitic carbon down to 100 metres depth.
