Engineering company RCR Tomlinson (ASX: RCR) has been awarded $125 million in new contracts across its resources and infrastructure businesses.
These will contribute to its 2014 financial year revenues, ensuring another consecutive year of growth.
Its resources business successfully bid for the expansion of Glencore’s Ernest Henry Mine project in Queensland.
This $70 million contract covers major structural, mechanical, piping, electrical & instrumentation work in three packages and encompass the installation and commissioning of underground crushing and materials handling equipment, along with associated infrastructure.
Work will commence immediately with the project expected to be completed in the second quarter of the 2014 calendar year.
It was also awarded a major extension to its ongoing involvement at Newcrest Mining’s (ASX: NCM) Cadia Valley Operations in New South Wales, again for specialised underground mine work.
This covers structural, mechanical & piping works for the West Crusher of Panel Cave 2.
Meanwhile, its mining equipment business has been awarded its first iron ore in-pit crushing and conveying plant by Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO).
This involves the delivery of an In-Pit Iron Ore Sizing Plant to support the MESA J mining operations at Pannawonica in Western Australia.
Contract scope includes design, supply, manufacture, pre-assembly and site installation, including civil works and commissioning of the plant, which will have minimum production capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum.
The project is expected to be completed by March 2015.
