U.S. corporate news; Smith & Wesson and ETrade Financial Corp in focus

In U.S. corporate news, Smith & Wesson (NASDAQ:SWHC) shed more than 10% after its guidance fell short of estimates, despite beating on both top and bottom lines in the first quarter.

ETrade Financial Corp. (NASDAQ:ETFC) rallied almost 5% after Goldman Sachs upgraded its shares to buy from neutral.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) was also drawing attention, with shares up more than 0.6% as the rumour mill was active, saying that the company has begun evaluating a plan to offer iPhones with screens ranging from 4.8 inches to as high as six inches.

There were also reports that DoCoMo is likely to announce a partnership with Apple on the day of its iPhone launch. DoCoMo (NYSE:DCM) is expected to start selling iPhones as soon as autumn, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
