Senex Energy has warned that it may have to revise its net annual production below its previous forecast of 700,000 barrels of oil after rain closed roads to the Growler and Snatcher oil fields in the Cooper Basin.
Extensive rain closed all access roads within the Cooper Basin and forced the company to shut in production of more than 5500 barrels per day from the two wells.
Senex said production, which is currently trucked, will be reinstated as soon as possible and that commissioning of pipelines that are currently under design and construction will significantly reduce the risk of future production delays.
The Growler to Lycium flowline is due for completion by August 2012 while the Lycium to Moomba flowline is substantially complete with the tie-in to Moomba expected in the December 2012 quarter.
These flowlines are operated by Beach Energy (ASX: BPT).
Meanwhile, construction of Santos' (ASX: STO) Charo to Tirrawarra pipeline is expected to be completed by July 2012 with construction of Senex's Snatcher to Charo pipeline to start soon after.
