Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) has commenced a magnetic survey to scout for nickel at the Zanthus Project in the Fraser Range, Western Australia.
Zanthus is located 18 kilometres east of Sirius Resources (ASX:SIR) Nova-Bollinger nickel-copper massive sulphide discoveries.
This 18,900 kilometre survey will be used to provide geological information, including major structural features and intrusive bodies, and provide a more detailed understanding of local geology.
The recent ground electromagnetics program identified the presence of a bedrock conductor in the JV tenement with Blackham Resources (ASX:BLK), and also identified another two areas of high conductivity.
Infill station readings were taken around the three areas of conductivity within the bedrock under the shallow cover, and further surveying is required to ascertain the level of conductivity, strike and dip of the bodies.
The Fraser Range has potential to host a number of nickel deposits of various characteristic similar to that of the Voisy Bay, Thompson and Raglan nickel deposits in Canada.
Next stages of exploration planned at the Zanthus Project will include further target generation, ground gravity surveys to identify conductive bodies, geochemistry, and deeper drilling where warranted.
Rumble is one of the smallest capped nickel explorers in the Fraser Range, being presently valued at just $3.5 million.
