Rumble Resources (ASX: RTR) is fast tracking exploration of its Fraser Range project nickel-copper project in Western Australia with the start of a ground electromagnetic program.
This targets the recently discovered sub circular gravity high that is interpreted to represent a Deep Root Zone coincident with a rimmed sub circular magnetic ‘Ring’ feature.
The feature is of similar size to Sirius Resources’ (ASX: SIR) Eye’ intrusive body which is the host unit to the Nova and Bollinger nickel-copper massive sulphide deposits.
Rumble’s ground electromagnetic survey will be a systematic program to determine if conductive bodies are present within the Deep Root Zone and surrounding areas, which may represent massive sulphide mineralisation.
The Fraser Range Project has the same intrusive rock units which are of similar age to the host rock units to the Nova and Bollinger nickel-copper deposits. Any conductive bodies identified within the Deep Root Zone could represent nickel-copper drill targets.
Data will be received throughout the survey allowing ongoing interpretation and modelling to be completed. The survey is expected to take between 4 and 5 weeks to complete.
Previous exploration at Rumble's project area was carried out by Teck Australia between 2007 and 2010 and included two gravity surveys.
Interestingly, Teck also completed two diamond drill holes targeting IOCG mineralisation with drilling completed prior to the discovery in 2012 of the Nova nickel-copper massive sulphide deposit by Sirius Resources.
