Rumble Resources discovers highly chargeable target zones at Paulsens South

Rumble Resources (ASX: RTR) has identified highly chargeable zones and resistivity highs coincident with interpreted fault contacts in the Melrose Fault Zone from a induced polarisation geophysical survey at the Paulsens South Project in Western Australia.

These highly chargeable zones are situated 12 kilometres southeast along the Melrose Fault, which hosts Northern Star Resources' (ASX: NST) Paulsens Gold Mine hosting a Resource of 2.3 million tonnes at 4.3 grams per tonne (g/t) for 318,000 ounces of contained gold.

Importantly, the geophysical interpretation has increased the number of highly prospective targets along the Melrose Fault Zone, where the company will target Paulsens-style gold in a September reverse circulation drilling program.

The three areas surveyed by gradient array induced polarisation covered the Melrose Fault Zone and a north to south fault in areas of mainly alluvial surface cover and no outcrop.

Results indicate the presence of several north to south resistive trends in the data which cut across the main stratigraphic orientation through the area. These resistive trends may indicate the presence of quartz veining within a fault zone.

These results are highly favourable as Rumble is targeting quartz veining with associated sulphides in fault zones in a geological setting similar to that at the Paulsens Gold Mine.

Northern Star’s Paulsens Gold Mine commenced production in 2005 and has been in operation since, producing 1.9 million tonnes at 7.9g/t for 491,000 ounces, as at EOM Dec 2011, with the mine consistently producing 70,000 to 80,000 ounces per annum.

Paulsens commenced on a nameplate processing capacity of 240,000 tonnes per annum, and since that time has produced in excess of 340,000 tonnes per annum.
