Robust Resources (ASX: ROL) has signed a farm in agreement to earn up to a 70% interest in the Bashkol Gold Copper tenement with KGL Resources (ASX:KGL).
The 17,986ha Bashkol Tenement is located in the eastern part of the Kyrgyz Republic, and is situated within the renowned Tien Shan Gold Belt, 60 kilometres along strike from the Kumtor deposit.
Kumtor is the Kyrgyz Republic’s world class producing gold mine with average annual production of 600,000 gold ounces annually, with resources exceeding 18 million ounces of gold.
The Bekbulaktor prospect within the Bashkol tenement has two gold mineralised zones, Bekbulaktor South and Bekbulaktor North, defined over a strike length of 2 kilometres. The full extent of the mineralisation is masked by Cainozoic surface cover with the full potential of the mineralisation likely to be revealed by drilling.
Trench results of channel sampling of the primary mineralisation at Bekbulaktor South delivered high grade results such as: 12 metres at 14.07g/t gold; and 8 metres at 5.65g/t gold; along with broader results such as 37 metres at 2.65g/t gold.
The location of the Bashkol project is unique for the Kyrgyz Republic, in that there are no villages near or downstream from the project and supporting infrastructure is already in place.
Moreover, local seasonal graziers and local government fully support the project.
Robust had previously acquired KGL's Andash gold-copper project in the Kyrgyz Republic for $15 million.
