Riedel Resources gets busy targeting copper in hot Doolgunna Thaduna region

Riedel Resources (ASX: RIE) has kicked off some exploration field programs in one of the hottest base metals regions currently in Australia.

The company's Marymia Project in strategically positioned in the Doolgunna Thaduna region of Western Australia’s mid-west.

Running down a list of nearby success stories, Marymia exploration licences are located 55 kilometres north-east of Sandfire Resources (ASX: SFR) massive DeGrussa copper-gold mine.

Add to this 12 kilometres east of Sipa Resources’ (ASX: SRI) Thaduna copper prospect and 12 kilometres east-north-east of Ventnor Resources’ (ASX: VRX) Green Dragon and Thaduna copper deposits.

Location is everything, and Riedel will be one to keep an eye on.

The proximity break down is this, Degrussa hosts 14.6 million tonnes at 4.6% copper and 1.6 grams per tonne gold, with Ventnor recently intersecting the likes of 11 metres at 5.57% copper from 100 metres, 5 metres at 5.10% copper from 100 metres, and 5 metres at 4.21% copper from 30 metres.

Back to Riedel

Exploration will commence with detailed geological mapping and geochemical soil sampling over previously unexplored areas that are highly prospective for base-metals and gold mineralisation.

Riedel’s exploration programs will then extend into other prospective parts of the project area that have also not been effectively explored. Planning of reconnaissance bedrock geochemical sampling using rotary air blast / aircore drilling where necessary is also underway.

The geological mapping and soil sampling programs have commenced in the south-western portion of E52/2394 and are designed to test for the presence of extensions to the copper geochemical anomalies previously identified by Sipa and Lodestar Minerals (ASX: LSR) adjacent to the tenement.

With drilling programs either underway or planned by Sipa and Lodestar, together with Ventnor’s Thaduna Project, there are now four companies (including Riedel) who are actively exploring in close proximity to Riedel’s E52/2394.

In total over two prospecting licenses, Riedel has an exploration footprint of 425 square kilometres in the region.
