Evolution Mining resumes gold processing at Mt Rawdon

Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) has restarted processing operations at its Mt Rawdon gold mine in Queensland, which was shutdown earlier this week following heavy rain and flooding in the region.

The company will initially process low grade stockpiles while dewatering of the open pit continues.

Dewatering has started and will in time allow access to higher grade ore sources.

Although the extreme weather event will have some impact on production from Mt Rawdon mine in the current quarter, the company stood by its fiscal 2013 group production cash cost guidance of 370,000-420,000 ounces gold equivalent at A$730-A$790 per ounce.

Evolution operates four wholly- owned Australian mines – Cracow, Edna May, Mt Rawdon and Pajingo- and is commissioning its fifth, the Mt Carlton gold-silver-copper project.
