Kinetiko Energy restarts South African coal seam gas drilling

Kinetiko Energy (ASX: KKO) has restarted drilling at its Amersfoort Project in South Africa, following the holiday shutdown.

The pilot rig has mobilised to the first pilot production well to drill the second stage to a total depth of 390 metres, targeting deeper gassy sandstones and coal seam gas.

Testing of the second pilot well will restart within two to three weeks.

Gas flow data will be assessed by Gustavson Associates with the target of booking proved and probable as well as proved, probable and possible reserves by April.

Operations at the two exploration coring rigs on the southern licence have also restarted and nine holes are expected to be completed by April, helping Kinetiko select future pilot production well locations.
