Kinetiko Energy (ASX: KKO) has expanded its South African coal seam gas operations after been granted 4 additional technical cooperation permits near its existing Amersfoort Project.
The permits entitle Kinetiko 12 months to perform desktop studies and the unique right to apply for exploration rights over the area they cover. It also gives the company the right to access exploration data held by the regulatory authorities.
Kinetiko said the permits cover Karoo coal basin areas that are highly prospective for commercial accumulations of coal seam gas.
These permits have been estimated by independent oil and gas consultants Gustavson Associates to hold total in-place gas of up to 9.3 trillion cubic feet.
