Estrella Resources unearths gold structural trend from sampling in Chile

Estrella Resources (ASX: ESR) is proving up the potential of its Venus Project in Chile to host significant grade gold mineralisation, with sampling identifying a gold structural trend which continues from the Centauri prospect within Agustina into the Venus tenement.

The Venus Project covers about 85 square kilometres and abuts the company’s Agustina tenement to the south and southeast.

Highlights from a recent reconnaissance field mapping and sampling campaign, which found two high grade gold vein sets at Centauri and Venus, include gold grades of between 2.41 grams per tonne (g/t) and 6.98g/t.

Evidence to date suggests the presence of numerous repetitions of the Centauri trends over a total 9 kilometre strike length.

The goal of the campaign was to assess the potential for similar structurally bound high grade gold mineralisation as those found at the Centauri prospect, which is located to the western side of the Agustina tenement.

This campaign also encompassed the Agua Grande area, which is a historical gold mining district that lies between Centauri and Venus.

Plans are currently underway to refine the gold target area at Venus, with Estrella planning a series of mapping and sampling traverses, soil samples and trenches across the vein trends.

Prospective Chilean acreage

Estrella wholly owns the Venus Project, which is located in a highly prospective region for high grade copper-gold.

The project host mineralised fault structures similar to the company’s Agustina Project and looks to be a southern extension.

Estrella also holds an option to acquire 100% of the Agustina concessions, which cover four mining leases and 21 square kilometres.

Agustina is a brownfields project highly prospective for IOCG mineralisation, and is host to several copper, gold and iron ore prospects – some exploited historically on a small scale.

The Centauri prospect within Agustina contains gold workings and has previously shown grades of up to 68.25g/t in stockpiles.

The Agustina Project is located in the same region of Chile that hosts the Teck Resources’ (NYSE: TCK) 484 million tonne Carmen de Andocollo mine and Hot Chili’s (ASX: HCH) 85.1 million tonne La Productora mine.
