Dart Energy (ASX: DTE) has traded around 10 million shares intra-day today at 1pm EST, with the company jumping 13% higher to $0.13.
Dart's most recent announcements include an investor presentation, which was released before the market open on Friday 19th July - which highlighted the company's substantial leverage to the UK unconventional gas sector.
The company is one of the largest unconventional gas licence holders in the UK, with the region an attractive place for the unconventional gas business.
Dart has a large position in the Bowland Shale, which is the UK’s most prospective shale gas play with >1,300 TCF shale gas potential.
Thick shales and good gas flow-rates have been demonstrated, with the Cuadrilla vertical well – IP > 1 MMscf/d. There is activity underway across the basin to establish commerciality, with corporate activity ramping up which is supported by Government policy.
Dart also recently completed a restructure, and now has a streamlined and refocused management, along with an appropriate overhead and capability.
Earlier in the month the company entered into an agreement to sell 100% of its wholly owned Singaporean subsidiary company, Dart Energy (FLG) Pte Ltd, to Hong Kong HuiHua Global Technology Ltd, a Hong Kong subsidiary of the Shenzhen-listed China Oil HBP Science & Technology Corporation Ltd.
Cash consideration for the sale is around US$20.8 million.
